More fieldwork. Less paperwork.
Why I started Kipta
Charles Pisciotta
Founder, Kipta
A site visit report should be about the professional’s judgment, yet much of its time goes to everything around it. I’ve seen it firsthand and heard it from firms and practitioners.
So I started Kipta. It turns what’s said, typed, and photographed on site into the reports that engineering, architecture, consulting, and inspection professionals write.
Where the time goes
- Retyping
- Site notes retyped at the desk and photos matched to findings by hand, often into the evening.
- Tools
- Notes, photos, calendars, shared folders, Word, PDF, and email, pieced together for every report.
- Leftovers
- Reports started from earlier ones and reworked with find-and-replace, where old details slip through.
- Revisions
- Rounds of markups for missed items, mistakes, and wording that varies by writer.
- Office
- Staff chasing drafts to format, proof, and send.
What Kipta does

Site to report
From the walk to a finding to a page of your report.
On site
Record findings once: talk, type, photo, or your library.
Standard
Your templates and defect names, no matter who writes.
Sign-off
The professional who signs accepts every finding.
One record
Clients, projects, site visits, and reports, all in one place.
Set up for you
Unlike a copy of the last report or a generic AI draft, Kipta starts from your own templates and language.
- You send
- Past reports of your most common work, if you can share them. They help, but Kipta doesn’t need them.
- You get
- Your templates, standard text, defect names, and letterhead, for you to review, with your projects and anyone on your team added.
- Support
- Hands-on help from me through setup, and a voice in what Kipta builds next.
Start with a pilot
Founding firms help shape Kipta, starting with a paid pilot. I set it up for you, we agree on what success means, and at the end, you decide whether to continue.
First, a walkthrough of your report, with a PDF to keep.

How you can help
If the timing or fit isn’t right for you, you can still help:
- Referrals
- I’d be grateful for an introduction to a US engineering, architecture, consulting, or inspection firm or association.Make an introduction
- Feedback
- I’d welcome a conversation about how you write reports today and where Kipta could fit in.Write to me
I’ll write when there’s something worth your time: what’s new in Kipta, what I’m learning from the firms and professionals I talk with, and news from the trade. I hope you’ll follow along.
